‘PRINCESS DIANA: A TRIBUTE EXHIBITION’ TO DEBUT IN LAS VEGAS
In August, “Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibition,” a 10,000-square-foot royal exhibit will assume a long-term permanent residency inside The Shops at Crystals on the Strip. The exhibition has been designed to transport visitors into the life of world-famous royalty through designer fashions, personal effects and historic items of the “People’s Princess” and family and friends important in her life.
Organizers worked to curate the exhibit from a collection of Diana and British royal memorabilia considered by many to be the world’s most comprehensive. This collection has taken more than 45 years to assemble. Guests will journey through 12 themed rooms anchored by three standout collections: “Wedding of the Century,” “Fashion Icon” and “Gone Too Soon: A Memorial.” The display will include a life-size artistic sculpture of the most famous wedding dress in history, nine Diana-worn textiles, historic royal family items and more than 500 original items and personal objects belonging (or relating) to Diana as well as other well-known royals, including Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Adding a significant amount of exclusive photography to the exhibition will be Anwar Hussein, the longest-standing living professional photographer of the royal family, who began his career capturing royal photos in the 1960s.
The exhibition is created and produced by SBX Group and SEE Global Entertainment in partnership with Pink Ribbons Crusade, a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer charity sharing its multi-million-dollar collection to raise funds to fight breast cancer.

DUCK DUCK SHED EVENT CELEBRATES LAS VEGAS ARCHITECTURE
The Neon Museum will debut a four-day event, Oct. 27-30, entitled “Duck Duck Shed: Celebrating Las Vegas Architecture, Design, and Culture” to recognize the city’s defining architecture.
The event will highlight the city’s architectural character over the decades with more than three dozen individual offerings. Programming will include presentations by nationally acclaimed speakers, such as author, historian, urban planner and architect Alan Hess and Jon Sparer, the famed architect behind prestigious international resorts as well as The Mirage, Paris, and Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Duck Duck Shed will also offer tours of historic Las Vegas neighborhoods and properties by foot, coach, and helicopter, including exclusive, once-in-a lifetime tours of Siegfried & Roy’s Jungle Palace, a private estate which is not open to the public.
Duck Duck Shed is focused on the themes first identified in the seminal text “Learning from Las Vegas” by Denise Scott Brown, Robert Venturi, and Steven Izenour, which is celebrating its 50th year since its initial printing and is still considered required reading in many universities’ architecture programs. The authors penned the idea that buildings are either “ducks” that explicitly represent their function through their unique shape and design or “decorated sheds” which are more generic structures with signs and décor denoting their purpose. Examples of this academic concept include the Tropicana which opened in 1957 and Resorts World that opened last year as “decorated sheds” and the Excalibur and Circus Circus as “ducks.”
“Since its founding Las Vegas has never ceased to amaze, innovate, and astonish. The Neon Museum is right to keep the spotlight on how it came to be, and the lessons it still has to reveal,” said Alan Hess, who will present on Oct. 27, “The View from Flamingo Rd: How Las Vegas Mastered Modernism” at the Legacy Club on the 60th floor of Circa.
All programming is being offered on an a la carte basis so attendees can attend the programs of their choice. For full details on event programming and to sign up for any tours, exhibits or lectures, visit duckduckshed.com.
THE BIGGA BAGGARIDDIM TOUR WILL STOP AT SUNSET STATION
The Bigga Baggariddim Tour starring UB40, The Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson, Maxi Priest and Big Mountain will make a stop at Sunset Station on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. and perform under the stars at the Sunset Amphitheater. Tickets start at $35.
With massive hits like “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” UB40 became one of the biggest names not only in reggae but in pop music in the 1980s and ’90s.
The Wailers rewrote the history books as Bob Marley’s band, and today under leader Aston Barrett Jr. they carry the flame for the past and light the way forward. In 1974 when Marley went solo, he surprised the music community by choosing American born lead guitarist, Al Anderson, whose stunning lead work first alerted rock fans to the Wailer’s music. Andersons’ musical achievements with Bob Marley & The Wailers include the platinum award winning albums, “Live at the Lyceum,” “Babylon by Bus” and 10 times platinum album “Legend.”
Maxi Priest since his 1988 debut and 10 albums has scored huge hits like “Close to You” by bringing together the sounds of reggae with R&B. He is the most successful reggae solo artist in the world, second only to legend Bob Marley.
American reggae band Big Mountain brought a very commercialized version of Jamaican music to the American mainstream when their cover of Peter Frampton’s "Baby, I Love Your Way" reached the Top Ten in early 1994.
