JEFF FOXWORTHY WILL PERFORM TWO SHOWS AT THE VENETIAN
Renowned comedian widely known for his redneck jokes and bestselling author Jeff Foxworthy will headline a two-show limited engagement at The Venetian Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 24-25 at 8 p.m. Tickets on sale Nov. 2 start at $69.
Foxworthy, whose style has been compared to Mark Twain’s, holds the record as the biggest selling comedy-recording artist in history. The multi-Grammy Award nominee has also released more than 26 books and in 2014 was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. Foxworthy was the host of the hit FOX game show “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?”
Foxworthy recently toured with Larry the Cable Guy on the “We’ve Been Thinking Tour,” which featured all new material from both comedians. The live show filmed as a comedy special in the spring of 2016 is available on Netflix. Foxworthy also has his own comedy channel “Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup” on Sirius XM.
PURPLE REIGN STARTS A NEW RESIDENCY AT THE TROPICANA
“Purple Reign,” the world’s No. 1 Prince tribute-show starring Jason Tenner, closed at the Westgate to start a new Strip residency at the Tropicana on Nov. 1 headlining 9 p.m. shows Wednesday through Saturday in the showroom. Tickets start at $49.99.
Tenner opened at the Westage Cabaret in October 2014 and moved into the larger International Theater in August 2016. Over 20-some years, the Prince tribute-artist has appeared all around town in venues at such locations as House of Blues, Monte Carlo, Hooters, various Station Casinos, Planet Hollywood and the D Las Vegas. On Nov. 17, 2008, Tenner became the first-ever tribute/impersonator act to appear as the musical guest on “Late Show with David Letterman.”
VEGAS ACES VOLLEYBALL CLUB UNVEILS FIRST TRAINING CENTRE
Vegas Aces Training Centre, which opened last weekend, is Southern Nevada’s first dedicated volleyball facility and the first-of-its-kind facility in the region. It is the new home of the Vegas Aces Volleyball Club, which despite lacking a dedicated training facility until now has nonetheless amassed impressive accolades and rankings.
Located in Henderson, the new two-story facility began construction in October 2016. It features 28-foot-high ceilings with three courts on the first floor, dedicated viewing areas for guests from the second floor balcony and office space. The court features the same padded faux wood floors used at the Beijing Olympics.
TWO NEW TENANTS PLANNED AT GALLERIA AT SUNSET
The Galleria at Sunset mall in Henderson has two new tenants opening soon.
The Raider Image, the official store for Raiders merchandise, will open in November on the lower level by the shopping plaza’s entrance. The 3,600-square-foot space will be owned and operated by The Raiders. Sideline, on-field and exclusive products and apparel for all ages will be available for purchase.
Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen + Mexican Cantina will bring two cuisines under one roof when it opens early next year offering an expansive selection of Chinese and Mexican fare. The restaurant will have a main dining area, and around 7,000 square feet featuring a sophisticated bar and lounge space with TVs, plush couches and booths. Restaurateurs Bobby and wife Tina are from Palm Desert, Calif., where they operate Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen. Their new restaurant, the first in this market, will be located at the main entrance to the mall next to Red Robin.
MIX94.1’S ANNUAL CONCERT WILL FEATURE KELLY CLARKSON
Mix94.1 will present Mercedes in the Morning’s Not So Silent Night featuring Kelly Clarkson, special guest All Time Low, and more acts TBA. The annual concert will return to The Joint at Hard Rock on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35.80.

Freakling Bros. The Trilogy of Terror celebrating 25 years in Las Vegas have three heart-stopping haunts at the Grand Canyon Shopping Center, including the classic Castle Vampyre ($17), the experimental COVEN of 13 ($15), and the award-winning Gates of Hell ($17), which is Nevada’s first and only R-rated attraction. Downtown Container Park will have a “spooktacular” slate of events for any age. Downtown Container Park’s monthly Kids Camp series will return with “Halloweentown” on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids will enjoy festive snacks and beverages and a balloon artist while decorating pumpkins and playing Halloween-themed games. Tickets are $10 per child.
Downtown Container Park’s monthly beer and wine walk series will be ZOMBIE Cider & Beer Walk on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. with unlimited brews and ciders, haunting tunes by the Shawn Degraff Band, and prizes for best costume and best zombie walk impersonation. Through Oct. 31, The LINQ Promenade has perfect photo-op outdoor Halloween décor. On Oct. 27, 29-31 at the beginning of every hour from 7 to 10 p.m., “The Witching Hour” “spooktacular” show will take over the Fountain Stage.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the annual “TRIQ or Treat” experience from 2-6 p.m. will provide a festive atmosphere where all the little costumed monsters and their families can collect sweet treats and surprises from participating restaurants and retailers. “The Witching Hour” will be performed at 4, 5, 6 and 7:45 p.m. and from 6-11 p.m. a DJ will present festive music sets. At 7:15 and 8 p.m., there will be heart-thumping rhythms and beats of the LED Drumline. At 9 p.m., The LINQ Promenade’s annual adult costume contest awards event will take place on the Fountain Stage with party folks competing for $15,000 in cash prizes.

The Plaza will host a free adult Halloween bash on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 7 to 11 p.m. under its dome. Guests are encouraged to wear their spookiest Halloween costumes to the party, which will conclude with a fireworks show around 10:30 p.m. set off to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Wet’n’Wild has partnered with Dark Knight Entertainment to transform the water park into a spooky Halloweenville Oct. 20-31 with jack-o-lanterns, food, haunted train rides, an ominous laser swamp, zombie paintball zone, a rock wall, trick-or-treating and much more. Halloweenville will have a Trick or Treat Village for $5 from Friday, Oct. 27 to Tuesday, Oct. 31. Tickets are $12 or $8 for season pass holders.

Beer Park at Paris will transform into “Boo Park” from Friday, Oct. 27 through Tuesday, Oct. 31. The Strip-side restaurant will host back-to-back Halloween parties, with costume contests and guest DJ performances throughout the weekend. Monday Night Football will get an eerie makeover on Oct. 30 with staff dressed like the undead. On Oct. 31, Beer Park will show cheesy scary movies throughout the venue.

Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop at Paris will celebrate “Halloweekend” with a three-day bash, featuring Halloween parties starting on Friday, Oct. 27 with a Golden Ticket party where guests will receive a dark chocolate bar from HEXX Chocolate + Confexxions, which may contain a winning ticket. First prize will be a specialty engraved, six-liter bottle of Moet Champagne, valued at $5,000 with additional prizes for second and third place.
