CLINT HOLMES HAS LIMITED-RESIDENCY AT GOLDEN NUGGET
Singer-songwriter Clint Holmes will be returning to his Vegas roots at the Golden Nugget where he began in 1999 with a limited-residency starting on his birthday May 9. He’ll be headlining in The Showroom at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesdays through August. Holmes a consummate entertainer always dazzles audiences with his vast repertoire of all genres of music, including some of his originals. He has been recognized with dozens of accolades.
MORTON BROTHERS OPENING MB STEAK AT HARD ROCK HOTEL
Brothers David Morton of DMK Restaurants in Chicago and Michael Morton of Morton Group in Las Vegas have come together in their first partnership to open MB Steak at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The new restaurant opening in May will be a new steakhouse for the Morton family in the footsteps of their father, legendary Arnie Morton, the founder of Morton’s The Steakhouse.
The Morton brothers have named Patrick Munster executive chef. Munster moved to Las Vegas in 2004 and joined SW Steakhouse at Wynn for 10 years during which time he was promoted to chef de cuisine. Most recently, he was with Clique Hospitality working as the executive chef of Bottigilia Enoteca inside Green Valley Ranch.
Antonia Bennett Makes Smith Center Debut
Antonia Bennett has been performing alongside her father legendary singer Tony Bennett since she could walk and for the past 10 years been opening for him all over the world. She will make her debut at The Smith Center on Friday, May 19 at 7 and 9 p.m. in “George Bugatti’s Piano Bar,” which is a series presented in Cabaret Jazz. The show is hosted by Las Vegas resident George Bugatti, who opens each show with songs and experiences of his early days performing in New York and Los Angeles piano bars and presents celebrity guest artists. Tickets are $39-$45.
Bennett will perform selections from her latest release, “Embrace Me,” dedicated to the great American songbook. In an intimate classic trio format, she will present songs such “Embraceable You” and “The Man I Love.”
In addition, if you present your ticket stub from Bennett’s concert to a server at the Bootlegger Bistro, you can receive a free appetizer when you purchase two entrees from the dinner menu. There is entertainment nightly at the Bootlegger.

Fresh off headlining at Coachella, Lady Gaga announced additional tickets are being released to her Joanne World Tour coming to T-Mobile Arena Friday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 16. This news is due to an innovative expansive stage set design featuring multi-levels, multi-stages and clear sight lines on all sides. Ticket range is $45 - $275.
Celebrity Chef Mario Batali held a party to commemorate the 10th anniversaries of his signature restaurants, B&B Ristorante and OTTO Enoteca e Pizzeria at The Venetian. For the rest of April, both restaurants will offer special tasting menus. At B&B Ristorante, the anniversary tasting menu is $99, and an additional $99 for wine pairings, and at OTTO Enoteca e Pizzeria, the special menu features various dishes from the restaurant’s original menu, all priced at $10 per dish.
PRINCE TRIBUTE SHOW IS IN WESTGATE’S MAIN SHOWROOM
For tried-and-true Prince fans, Jason Tenner’s tribute show “Purple Reign” at Westgate is right on the money. With the superstar’s passing, demand helped the show move in the main showroom. The show has been in Las Vegas for years and risen to international acclaim and recognition as the world’s No. 1 Prince Tribute. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $49.47.
Fun trivia fact, on Nov. 17, 2008, the group with Tenner’s lead became the first tribute/impersonator act to appear as the musical guest on “Late Show with David Letterman.” That show was chosen by CBS and Late Show to ring in the New Year and re-aired Jan. 1, 2009, at 12:15 a.m., making it the first musical performance of 2009 on Letterman.

The Golden Nugget is hosting the return of its popular Spring Wine Fest Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13 and will transform the resort into a sommelier’s paradise with a lavish poolside reception, intimate seminars, and a grand tasting event featuring a bounty of the finest wines from Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

HIP HOP ARTIST COMMON VISITS THE JOINT
Grammy Award-winner and hip hop star Common will perform at The Joint at Hard Rock on Saturday, June 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $39.50.
With his music career and continued accolades in film, Common has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading men. Before launching his acting career, he rose to prominence as one of hip hop’s most respected artists and recorded 10 studio albums. Common is a regularly requested guest speaker at universities and known to motivate and empower collegiate minds. In 2000, he launched his own philanthropic effort, The Common Ground Foundation, with a mission for the empowerment and development of disadvantaged youth in urban communities by mentoring in three areas: character development, creative expression and healthy living.
POOL DECKS ARE COMING ALIVE
Citrus Summer Series at Downtown Grand
The Downtown Grand is starting a new free to attend Citrus Summer Series on their rooftop pool deck on Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. Citrus pool parties will have a different themed twist on music entertainment nightly devoted to Old School R&B, Pop/Dance, Rock, and Latin beats every Thursday-Sunday. As the sun goes down, the parties light up with outdoor live concerts, DJs, yard games, food and drink specials and radio remotes.
Thursday nights will be Old School by the Pool presented by the KOAS Old School 105.7. The first band on May 4 at 8 p.m. will be Next Movement. Future upcoming bands and performers include: Phil Flowers, NA Fect, Sons of Soul, and Rhythm Nation.
Friday nights will be Dance Party with KLUC’s Morning Zoo personality, Kayla, and on-air talent Davey The ShowKiller serving as DJ. Kicking it off on May 5, Cinco de Mayo, will be a Shakira Tribute Band featuring Lorena Peril.
Saturday’s theme is Rock Nation with 92.3 KOMP and 97.1 The Point alternating throughout the weeks. A combination of live bands and DJ-driven nights including a monthly Albumpalooza show – a concert that highlights classic and timeless albums played live – will start May 6 with A Tribute to “Zeppelin IV.”
Sundays will be Noche de Ritmo or Rhythm Night. La Buena 101.9 will present a tequila-friendly combination of live bands and a DJ starting May 7 with Banda Corazon Sinaloense taking the stage.
Plaza’s New Rooftop Pool Received Additional Upgrades
The fully renovated rooftop pool and recreation deck at the Plaza downtown opened last year on the July 4th weekend. Already this summer there is an additional $25,000 furnishings upgrade and a $300,000 renovation to five hotel suites with direct access to the pool deck and various special events.
Maintaining a “retro Palm Springs-meets classic downtown Las Vegas” feel, the furnishings include adding cocktail side tables beside lounge chairs, new wet deck lounge chairs and more dining tables, chairs and umbrellas.
Every Saturday night this summer beginning May 6, the Plaza will host “Plaza Pool Nights,” a free night swim party with a DJ and drink and food specials from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The summer events will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, with a luau beach party featuring live entertainment and authentic Hawaiian food and drinks. Tickets are $40. To celebrate the Fourth of July holiday and pool’s one-year anniversary, the property will again host a special rooftop party and live fireworks show.
Foxtail Pool Debuts Live DJs At SLS Las Vegas®
Foxtail Pool at SLS Las Vegas® has an updated lineup of weekly DJs, new menu selections and specials for locals. Hours of operation will be extended to 9 a.m. through 6 p.m. daily.
This month is the debut of live DJs with a new weekly lineup playing every Friday through Sunday. Hotel guests have free admission and locals can take advantage of a new complimentary access Monday through Thursday, and cover charges will apply on weekends.
CASAPOOLOOZA IS FREE CONCERT SERIES AT CASABLANCA IN MESQUITE
CasaPoolooza is a four-concert Saturday night series being held at the Lagoon Pool at the CasaBlanca Resort in Mesquite, Nev., with dates May–September. Mesquite is located 77 miles north of Las Vegas and well worth a trip and possibly an overnight stay. Concerts begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free and guests must be 21 years of age.
The poolside concerts will launch on Saturday, May 6 with The Spazmatics and DJ Jimmy Z rockin’ between band sets. The remaining acts include: Yellow Brick Road on June 3; Lights- the Music of Journey and More on Aug. 5; and WolfCreek on Sept.2.
SPRINGS PRESERVE HOSTS ANNUAL DÍA DEL NIÑO
The Springs Preserve will host its annual Día del Niño (Children’s Day) family-friendly event on Saturday, April 29 from noon–5 p.m. This day is celebrated worldwide at various times throughout the year especially in countries like Mexico. It’s a day all about the little ones.
Festivities will include an art exhibit by internationally renowned Latino artists, art and music workshops, cooking demonstrations, live music, entertainment on two stages, a petting zoo, face painting, magicians, traditional food, hands-on arts and crafts, and much more. Admission is $6 for adults and children ages 3-12, and free for kids 2 and under.
SAN GENNARO FEAST WILL HONOR PAST HOST TONY SACCA
The 38th Annual San Gennaro Feast will be held May 10–14 at Craig Ranch Park. The festival is being dedicated to the memory of Tony Sacca, who passed away on Jan. 30 and who was the host and main act at San Gennaro every night for the last 32 years. Kelly Clinton, Sacca’s nephew Eddie Tully, Jr. and childhood friend Philly Cuzz aka Phil Battaglia, festival regular Denise Clemente, Mark Giovi, Michael Monge, The Saccettes - Amanda Kaiser, Nellie Norris, and Joelle Righetti, and many others will be honoring Sacca under the direction and orchestration of Gary Anderson, musician, band leader, and also close friend in a musical tribute every night.
Also performing on various nights will be The Shades of Sinatra, The Good Fellows, Sam Riddle Band, The Lon Bronson Band, Thr3 Cards, and MJ LIVE. There will be a DJ Dance Party every night starting off the festivities hosted at 6 p.m. Tully, Jr.
All-day Saturday and Sunday, local High School Bands will be competing for an award.
MARVEL AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. RECOGNIZES NATIONAL SUPERHERO DAY
National Superhero Day was originally started by a group of Marvel employees in 1995 where they took to the streets in capes to find out what type of superhero the everyday person wanted to become. Over the years, the day evolved into a reminder that there are superheroes keeping us safe every day. To honor that notion, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at Treasure Island is offering complimentary admission to the attraction for firefighters, police officers, military, and first responders on Friday, April 28 from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. with last entry at 9 p.m.

The Great American Foodie Fest, formerly the Las Vegas Foodie Fest, will return to Sunset Station April 27-30. The festival has been ranked as the Top 10 Food Festivals in America by the The Telegraph Travel and Top 15 Food Festivals in the United States by Cardsbull.com. The four-day event is a culmination of the best specialty food vendors and gourmet food trucks from all around the country that have been featured on the Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel. In addition, the festival will feature a beer garden and live entertainment, along with carnival rides, games, eating competitions, arts/craft vendors, retail vendors and more. The American Cornhole League (ACL) National 6 Tournament will be held at The Linq April 28-30 with competitors competing for a $5,000 prize pool starting at 6 p.m. on Friday and starting at 11 a.m. the next two days. Lyft Las Vegas officially opened to its new 3,721-square-foot “Hub” support center at 7255 S. Tenaya Way, which is one of six the country. The modern Hub houses the Lyft operations team, provides recruitment and education as well as in-person support for Lyft drivers. It serves as a one-stop shop for potential new drivers to apply, complete vehicle inspection and receive information on regulations.
