BRITNEY SPEARS WILL END HER LAS VEGAS SHOW DEC. 31
Britney Spears, the first contemporary pop superstar with a Las Vegas residency, has announced the final 18 show dates for her record-breaking “Britney: Piece of Me” at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood, which will be Sept. 3 through Dec. 31, 2017. Her next previously-announced 21 performances will start on May 3. General ticket prices range from $59 to $229.
Spears opened her show on Dec. 27, 2013, pioneering a groundbreaking paradigm shift with a modern era of entertainment in the city. More than 700,000 fans have experienced her Las Vegas show, which was designed exclusively for her. The recent redesign of the showroom incorporated an innovative dance floor and VIP table seating concept allowing for nightclub-style service in a theater setting. In 2016, Spears unveiled a substantial re-imagination of her show. She was the first artist-in-residence housed in The AXIS.
MEL BROOKS WILL VISIT WYNN LAS VEGAS
Mel Brooks the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winning actor, writer, producer, and director will perform at Wynn on Friday and Saturday, June 30 and July 1 in the Encore Theater. “An Evening With Mel Brooks” will provide a behind-the-scenes look into his extraordinary life and career. The rare onstage event will combine personal anecdotes with stand-up comedy and film clips of his most memorable work, which includes “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” and “The Producers” as well as the TV series “Get Smart,” and “2000 Year Old Man” comedy albums and books. Tickets start at $75.
LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM-CHRISTINE MCVIE WILL VISIT PARK THEATER
Longtime collaborators and Fleetwood Mac members, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie, have teamed up for their first duo record with 10 songs being released by Atlantic Records on June 9. The duo will hit the road on a U.S. tour with a stop at Park Theater at Monte Carlo supported by The Wallflowers on Saturday, July 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $45-$159.
The duo’s collaboration began three years ago when McVie rejoined Fleetwood Mac for the group’s “On With The Show” tour. The pair went in to record new material prior to rehearsals for the tour and their natural creative chemistry was reignited.
MOB MUSEUM’S PROHIBITION DISPLAY WILL HAVE DISTILLERY-SPEAKEASY
Part of The Mob Museum’s improvement project downtown will be a comprehensive Prohibition Era history experience with a working distillery and speakeasy. The new immersive exhibits with multimedia displays, objects and artifacts will debut in 2018 and occupy the museum’s basement level.
Prohibition famously shut down thousands of breweries and distilleries across America, but it didn’t eliminate the public’s desire for alcohol. Instead brewing and distilling of booze became the purview of organized crime syndicates. In the museum’s speakeasy, guests will encounter exhibits documenting the culture of the 1920s while enjoying the ambiance of a fully operational tavern.
CÉLINE DION ADDS MORE CAESARS PALACE DATES INCLUDING DEC. 31
Céline Dion has added 37 more show dates to her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace including New Year’s Eve. This summer, in between runs of her Las Vegas residency performances, she will hit the road with her LIVE 2017 European Tour comprising 25 dates across Sweden, The UK, The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Germany and Scotland.
Last month Dion launched her first line of fashion accessories with more than 200 articles, including handbags and luggage ensembles. The Céline Dion Collection will be available in stores in September 2017.
VOGUES, DIAMONDS ARE PART OF ANNUAL SUMMER OF FUN AT CANNERY
KOOL and KJUL radio stations will present the 15th Annual Summer of Fun Kick Off at the Cannery, which will be a concert and festival event featuring craft vendors, food trucks, a classic car show and entertainment by vocal quartet The Vogues, The Diamonds, The Outsiders and Shades of Blue on Saturday, May 27. Doors to the festival open at 4 p.m. Tickets start at $5.
COMEDIAN BOB SAGET BRINGS HIS TOUR TO BROOKLYN BOWL
Self-proclaimed “Dirty Daddy” and Grammy-nominated stand-up comedian Bob Saget is bringing his signature off-color comedy style to Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, May 26 at 7 p.m. General admission standing tickets start at $30, seated tickets at $39.50, and VIP Meet and Greet packages at $100.
Saget was America’s favorite dad on the family-friendly ‘90s TV series “Full House” and the former host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Yet he has never been afraid to embrace his darker raunchy and even produced R-rated comedies such as “Farce of the Penguins.”
‘THE PAUL LYNDE SHOW’ OPENS AT BALLY’S WITH MICHAEL AIRINGTON
“The Paul Lynde Show” written and performed by comedian and celebrity impersonator Michael Airington opened in the Windows Showroom at Bally’s. The one-man 2 p.m. afternoon show celebrates the life of the legendary comedian, Paul Lynde. It is based on the comedian’s 1976 live theater production of the same name and features voice overs by Peter Marshall, the master of “Hollywood Squares,” and a live three-man band.
DAVE CHAPPELLE BRINGS COMEDY TO MANDALAY BAY EVENTS CENTER
Comedian Dave Chappelle will headline at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Friday, May 5 at 9 p.m. Chappelle recently made his return to the screen with a pair of stand-up specials exclusively on Netflix. His film career began in 1993 as Ahchoo in Mel Brooks’ “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” and he starred in the ABC’s series “Buddies.” Tickets range in price from $59 to $279.
TROPICANA’S HAVANA ROOM WILL OPEN ‘MEN OF THE STRIP’ REVUE
This spring the Tropicana will be following the entertainment trend in Las Vegas and launching the multi-faceted all-male cabaret show “Men of the Strip” in the resort’s Havana Room. Tickets will be $49.99 for general admission, $59.99 for a table, and $79.99 for a VIP table.
“Men of the Strip” first emerged in 2012 with Jeff Timmons, Emmy nominated celebrity choreographer Glenn Douglas Packard, and Mike “Money Mike” Foland. Their male revue toured to 42 cities while cameras followed to create a sexy two-hour docu-movie special that aired on the E! Network and garnered more than a half-million viewers.
Timmons was part of the internationally-renowned boy band 98 Degrees. Packard worked with legendary performers like Michael Jackson, Pink, Usher, and Ricky Martin.
CLOSED LAX NIGHTCLUB AT LUXOR WILL BECOME E-SPORTS ARENA
Keeping up with the changing times and recognizing the growing number of millennials visiting Las Vegas and their interests, the closed LAX nightclub at the Luxor is being converted into the Strip’s first multi-level e-sports arena with the capacity to host 1,000 people. With a goal to open early next year, the venue will feature a competition stage, LED video wall, daily gaming stations, food and drink and a streaming and television-quality production studio.
FLAMINGO GO POOL WILL PRESENT SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT SERIES
Sugar Ray and Everclear are booked for the initial lineup of the Night Jams concert series on Sundays at the Flamingo GO Pool. The series features artists who dominated the international airwaves in the ‘90s and beyond. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with an opening act at 7 p.m. and the headliner at 8 p.m.
First up will be Sugar Ray on Sunday, June 25, with front man Mark McGrath hosting Day Beats at the Flamingo GO Pool on Saturday, June 24. Everclear will perform on Sunday, July 16. The band is celebrating the milestone 20th anniversary of their 1997 multi-platinum smash “So Much For The Afterglow.” Tickets for Sugar Ray and Everclear are $33.25 at Ticketmaster.
RED ROCK BOOKS SECOND DATE FOR ‘STRAIGHT OUTTA OZ’
Because his Saturday, May 6 “Straight Outta Oz” show at Red Rock Resort in Rocks Lounge sold out, Todrick Hall has added a Sunday, May 8 performance at 4 p.m. Tickets start at $35.
Broadway Actor, MTV star, “American Idol” ninth season finalist and Streamy Award winner Hall, who has choreographed for Beyoncé, is putting a new twist on L. Frank Baum’s creation, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” With more than 20 original songs, Hall is bringing the American classic to life. Hall tells the tale of his adventures from a small town in Texas, to the big Emerald City lights of “Oz Angeles.”
Hall was part of the Tony Award-winning musical “Memphis” and starred as Lola in the Tony Award-winning hit musical “Kinky Boots” on Broadway.
AUSTRALIAN DUO AIR SUPPLY WILL RETURN TO ORLEANS SHOWROOM
Soft rock group Air Supply will visit The Orleans Showroom again May 26-28. Tickets start at $39.95.
In 1975, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock got together to form Air Supply. They met at rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Sydney, Australia, and became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and singing. Early in their musical career, the duo performed throughout Australia and began winning fans with hit singles like “Love and Other Bruises.” Later they gained international recognition as Rod Stewart’s opening act for his North American tour.

SUPER SUMMER THEATRE WILL START UP IN MAY
The outdoor Super Summer Theatre’s 2017 season at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park will open with two special concert-like performances of Rodger and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” on May 19 and 20. This is the first time in the theatre’s 43-year history where amateurs are taking center stage in an effort to raise funds for theatrical productions and education programs. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day of the show, and $75 VIP.
The season will continue with: The Wedding Singer” June 7-24; “In The Heights” July 12-29; “Man of La Mancha” Aug 9-26; and Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” on Sept. 7-23.

Tape Face from “American’s Got Talent” is winding down his limited engagement at the Flamingo with shows April 18-May 7 at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Then he will take off on his U.S. tour in May.

The Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel duo– better known as the electro-rock outfit Phantogram – are headed back to Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq Promenade on Wednesday, April 19 at 8:30 p.m. General admission tickets start at $29.50.
Phantogram returns to Brooklyn Bowl for the first time since their 2016 album “Three” was released. The album was heavily influenced by the death of Barthel’s sister and Carter’s close friend by suicide.

The upcoming nine-day Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival will present “Global Warming: Hoax, Doomsday or What?” a climate change debate featuring Dr. Michael Shermer and James Taylor, moderated by local meteorologist Nathan Tannenbaum on Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m., inside the Windmill Library Performing Arts Center at 7060 W. Windmill Lane (registration is required).
