Frank Marino – Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Frank who is recovering from gallbladder surgery. Also, I hear congratulations are in order on Frank’s 25th anniversary as a Las Vegas headliner on Thursday, September 23rd.

Liberace Museum – If you have not heard, I am sad to report that the famed Liberace Museum will be closing its doors on October 17. For further in-depth reporting on this controversial sad story by the Las Vegas Sun Newspaper – check out http://www.lasvegassun.com and search ‘Liberace’. There is a picket/protest event scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 22 from 11:30am – 1:00pm on the sidewalk in front of the Liberace Plaza. The protest is to raise awareness for the allegations of gross mismanagement, incompetence, and conflict of interest between several individuals involved with the operation of the museum and the Liberace Foundation. I hope to see some of you on the sidewalk on Wednesday!

Louie Anderson – This past Tuesday night was Press/Media Night for the opening of comedian Louie Anderson’s show in his new home at the Palace Station. Louie is celebrating his 26th year here in Las Vegas as a headline comedian. Palace Station honored Louie by naming their theater after him – The Louie Anderson Theater (formerly Bonkerz Comedy Club).I have seen Louie a couple times over the past few years at Excalibur and now at Palace Station. He continually adds new material fresh new comments when chatting with audience members. It is so refreshing to sit in a comedy club and be able to laugh throughout the whole show and not hear a single word of profanity! It is the mark of a true comic genius who can entertain a packed theater with truly a family show – one that I would not be ashamed to bring my mother to.Congratulations Louie and best wishes for many years of a successful show in your new home.

Diana Ross – The original Diva herself will be performing at Caesar’s Palace on November 12 and 13 for two shows only. Ms. Ross will surely sell-out the 4.300 seats in The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace – so get your tickets early, they range in price from $49.50 - $99.50.

Pool Party – Sunday was spent relaxing poolside in a private cabana at the Moorea Ultra Pool at Mandalay Bay. This was a private networking and social event for the Las Vegas entertainment community – onstage performers, backstage workers, producers, and media. Several of Vegas’ more hip and social entertainers were there having a great afternoon: hypnotist Marc Savard, up and coming ‘freak’ magician Andres Ramirez, and magician Arian Black to name just a few. If you are a Las Vegas entertainer and do not know about this new social networking group, go check outwww.showbizparty.com . This is a private group for entertainment related people only and you will be asked to verify your affiliation.
