JIMMY KIMMEL WILL OPEN COMEDY CLUB AT THE LINQ PROMENADE
In partnership with Caesars Entertainment, Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club will open next spring at The LINQ Promenade across from Brooklyn Bowl. Kimmel’s first and only comedy club designed by Kimmel and his comedian friends will be an 8,000-square-foot, two-story venue with an expandable showroom seating up to 300 guests. The club will be open nightly with shows and daily with a bar. The comedians who will be showcased will range from up-and-coming talent to household names curated by Kimmel and his team.
What makes this venture special for Kimmel is Las Vegas is his hometown where he grew up. He attended Clark High School and despite bad grades and patchy attendance received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater UNLV.
ORLEANS ARENA HOSTS GLAMPYRES, THE PRIDE PARADE AFTER PARTY
The Orleans Arena and 98.5 KLUC will present Glampyres, the official pride parade after party, on Friday, Oct. 19 at 9:30 p.m. The show’s host will be Morgan McMichaels, a star drag performer and former contestant on the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Tickets start at 35.
Glampyres will feature singer-songwriter, author, actress and television personality Erika Jayne who starred on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Special guests performing will be Nina Sky composed of identical twins Nicole and Natalie Albino, pop-rap artist Dev and DJ Chris Cox.
NOMAD LAS VEGAS IS OPEN
The 293-room luxury hotel experience, NoMad Las Vegas opened softly on Oct.12 inside the newly opened Park MGM. The property has a high-limit casino, Moroccan inspired pool and NoMad Bar and NoMad Restaurant. The food and beverage offerings come from the award-winning duo behind the renowned Eleven Madison Park in New York, which was ranked the top restaurant in the world by The World’s 50 Best in 2017, and the NoMad restaurant and bar in New York and Los Angeles.
GHOST DONKEY IS NOW OPEN AT THE COSMOPOLITAN
Rounding out the offerings at Block 16 Urban Food Hall, Ghost Donkey, New York City’s famed mezcal and tequila bar, has opened at The Cosmopolitan. It is located on the second level of the Boulevard Tower with an intimate speakeasy style setting.
Ghost Donkey features an extensive selection of mezcal and serves expertly selected tasting flights alongside specialty crafted cocktails. In addition, Ghost Donkey serves a selection of late-night snacks. Hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
SOULCYCLE WILL OPEN NEW STUDIO IN WYNN PLAZA
Indoor cycling experience SoulCycle will open a brand-new studio in November in the new Wynn Plaza, the resort’s new retail destination. The 62-bike studio’s exclusive experience with offer illuminated lighting synced to playlists, an expanded podium with up to three instructors, art and neon installations, and a shopping experience featuring SoulCycle performance and athleisure collections.
FASHION SHOW IS SECOND OUTLET FOR LOCAL KAPPA TOYS
Kappa Toys in the Fashion Show mall is the second location in Las Vegas for local toy curator and founder Lizzy Newsome, who opened her original shop inside Container Park downtown in 2014 with husband Trevor Yopp.
The new 3,000-square-foot tactile-based toy store located on the second floor next to Saks Fifth Avenue has never-before-seen international and national collectibles along with nostalgic classics. With more than 2,000 toys in stock, Kappa Toys is debuting exclusive to the new location the global design brand tokidoki and a dedicated San-X section with imported favorites from Japan including Rilakkuma, Summiko Gurashi and assorted Amuse Plush.
M RESORT SPA CASINO WRAPS UP CONCERT SERIES
The M Resort will wrap up its concert series with three more 8 p.m. shows this year.
Martin Nievera with special guest Grammy-winner Patti Austin will headline Saturday, Oct. 20. Nievera is known as the “Concert King” of the Philippines and has numerous top-selling recordings to his name including 18 platinum, five double-platinum, three triple-platinum and one quadruple-platinum album. Tickets start at $29.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, “The Queens of Soul” will be a non-stop hit parade featuring four female tribute stars Trina Johnson Finn, Denita Asberry, Marva Scott and Cookie Watkins. They will be performing some of the greatest hits from Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer and Tina Turner. Tickets start at $15.
The last show on Saturday, Dec. 15 will be Naturally 7, a group who toured with Michael Bublé and released their seventh studio album, “Both Sides Now.” The group got their start in 1999 in New York City when the seven members came together for an a cappella competition, which they won. Determined to set themselves apart from other a cappella acts, they created their own genre known as “vocal play.” While a cappella is defined as singing without instruments, Naturally 7 can create the same instrumental sounds using only their voices. Tickets start at $15.
OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE ANNUALLY INVOKES HALLOWEEN SPIRITS
For the sixth season, Opportunity Village at 6300 West Oakey Blvd. is producing the “spooktacular” fundraiser HallOVeen! The Magical Forest for all ages. There will be photo-ops, a phenomenal display of Halloween-themed trees and décor, and signature attractions — The Forest Express Ghost Train, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, The Avalanche Slide, The Blizzard Mini-Coaster and more — along with three new rides Wacky Worm Coaster, Samba Balloons and The Sizzler. ‘NIGHTMARE ON Q STREET’ FEATURES HIP-HOP ARTISTS
Q 100.5’s “Nightmare on Q Street” will feature top hip-hop artists of the ‘80s and ‘90s on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orleans Arena. Artists taking center stage will include Bone Thugs-N-Harmony with special guests Ja Rule, Too $hort, Juvenile, Ying Yang Twins, Luniz and Petey Pablo. Tickets start at $32.
Formed in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in 1997 was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for their song “Tha Crossroads.” The group has sold more than 50 million records throughout their career.

COMEDIANS APPEARING AT HARD ROCK
Comedian, actor and rapper Mike Epps will headline at The Joint inside Hard Rock on Friday, Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. He is known for playing Day-Day Jones in “Next Friday” and the sequel “Friday After Next.” In “The Hangover,” he appeared as “Black Doug.” Tickets start at $39.
Stand-up comedian Colin Kane is continuing his once a month Friday residency dates at the Vinyl. His next show is Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. First thing you notice when he takes the stage are his great looks, but brace yourself, his style is in-your-face insult biting comedy and sexually graphic. He’s very adept at impromptu, off-the-cuff interaction with the entire adult-only audience. Tickets start at $35.
PIANIST PHILIP FORTENBERRY WILL SALUTE BROADWAY
Renowned pianist Philip Fortenberry, who was the hand/body double for actor Michael Douglas in HBO’s biopic “Behind the Candelabra,” will bring his masterful piano playing and storytelling to The Smith Center’s 244-seat Myron’s Cabaret Jazz showroom with his newest solo concert, “Give My Regards,” at 7 p.m. Tickets range is $25 to $45.
Fortenberry and Las Vegas composer Keith Thompson are the producers of “The Cocktail Cabaret” at Cleopatra’s Barge in Caesars Palace. He is also co-founder and host of “The Composers Showcase,” a Nevada nonprofit which gives opportunities for composers to present original music. The next showcase also in Myron’s Cabaret Jazz will be Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$30.

Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood has added a new full-service bar embellishing the beach-town party of a Baja hideaway with vibrant Talavera ceramic tiles lining the walls, along with views of Sammy Hagar’s gold records. The bar opens daily at 10 a.m. and offers seating for 10 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Taste of Downtown-Epicurean Event sponsored by the Nevada Restaurant Association (NvRA) will make its debut poolside at the Plaza downtown on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event will feature 25 notable restaurants from the heart of the city along with a selection of libations. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased online at the Plaza’s website.
Reminder, the Downtown Brew Festival (DBF) will return to the Clark County Amphitheater for its seventh year on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 5-9 p.m. DBF will spotlight more than 250 beers from 70 breweries, “Festaurant Row” with some of the finest chefs in the city, and live music. Shake Shack is launching The Slapshot, a provolone double cheeseburger topped with crispy pickles, onion and garlic mayo on a potato bun on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at all Las Vegas and Henderson locations. The new burger pays homage to the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Virgil’s Real Barbecue at The LINQ Promenade is celebrating Halloween with The Virgil’s Cauldron. The sharable one-gallon spooky cocktail comes with Skyy Vodka, a bleeding ice hand crawling out of the cauldron and a choice of “brew” including different flavors. The magical concoction is $46. In addition, Virgil’s bartenders will be slinging $7 Skull Shots of Corralejo tequila. Both cocktails will be available Oct. 26-Nov. 3.

APOCALYPSE VEGAS PRESENTS ‘DEAD CITY VEGAS’
This month, special ops attraction Apocalypse Vegas is debuting its interactive Halloween haunted experience “Dead City Vegas.” Four nights a week through October, guests can partake of a 20-minute adrenaline haunted house adventure where you can fight back through Sunday, Oct. 28. The attraction is operating Thursday-Sunday at 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. and midnight on Friday and Saturday. General admission is $29.99, and guests will be required to fill out a waiver.
Skilled special ops personnel will guide thrill-seekers through 13 haunted houses inside the 38,000-square-foot indoor maze. Guests will suit up in tactical gear, receive training on basic tactical concepts, and dodge live zombies wreaking havoc.

EVENTS FOCUSING ON LOCAL AVIATION
The Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHOF) Enshrinement Dinner and Ceremony honoring Nevada pioneers in aviation and aerospace will be held Friday, Nov. 9 at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. On Saturday, Nov. 10 the Clark County Aviation Association Open House and Car Show will be available free to the public at the North Las Vegas Airport from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. featuring a wide array of aircraft from old to modern.
