BILLY IDOL WILL HAVE HEADLINE RESIDENCY AT PALMS IN 2019
“Billy Idol: Las Vegas 2019” presented by SiriusXM will have a 10-show run next year at the Palms with five shows in January and five in October. This will be the second residency show for the reimagined property. Tickets are $34.95 - $149.95.
Idol, who has remained a household name for more than three decades, is premiering his latest release, “Vital Idol: Revitalized.” More than 30 years after his groundbreaking “Vital Idol” compilation in the second half of the 1980s, Idol’s Revitalized collection features 11 brand-new remixes of his most classic and enduring hits.
His show at the Palms will feature material from his whole career, from Idol’s days fronting the seminal British punk band Generation X to his hits the world has come to love, including “Rebel Yell,” “White Wedding,” “Dancing With Myself,” and more. Idol’s longtime guitarist Steve Stevens and the rest of his touring band will join him.
Idol also hosts an exclusive SiriusXM show, “Billy Idol’s Live Transmission,” which can be heard on SiriusXM’s 1st Wave, channel 33.
JAMES TAYLOR WILL HEADLINE 12 SHOWS AT CAESARS PALACE
Singer-songwriter James Taylor joined by his All-Star Band are signed for a 12-show run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace next April 17-May 11, 2019. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performances start at $55.
Taylor has touched people with his baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 40 years. Over the course of his career, Taylor has sold more than 100 million albums, earning awards for classics ranging from “Sweet Baby James” in 1970 to “October Road” in 2002. In 2015, Taylor released “Before This World,” his first new studio album in 13 years, and first ever No. 1 album.
Taylor has won multiple Grammy awards and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. In November 2015, he was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. In December 2016, Taylor received the Kennedy Center Honors.

NEON MUSEUM EXPANDS BONEYARD’S ELECTRIFIED SIGNS
The Neon Museum is expanding the number of electrified signs on view in its Boneyard exhibition space by nearly a third. By Oct.16 fully restored electrified signs will be installed including Anderson Dairy’s “Andy” Anderson, The Red Barn, and Chief Hotel Court and Nevada Motel signs, which were previously displayed on Third Street and of late have been in storage. They will join Dot’s Flowers, which was installed in the Boneyard this summer.
‘LITTLE MISS NASTY’ WILL MAKE VEGAS DEBUT AT HOOTERS
Los Angeles rock and roll burlesque show, “Little Miss Nasty,” will make its debut in Las Vegas in the 200-seat Night Owl Showroom at Hooters beginning Friday, Oct. 5. The sexy vixens will dance to a music backdrop with rock songs from such groups as Led Zeppelin, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, and The Runaways to name a few. “Little Miss Nasty” will be performed every Friday and Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. Tickets start at $49; must be 21.
‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT LIVE’ WILL APPEAR AT PARIS THEATER
The 13th season of NBC’s hit “America’s Got Talent” ended with the extraordinary close-up magician Shin Lim taking home the title and $1 million cash prize. Another prize is headlining a stage show in Las Vegas, so mark your calendars for Nov. 2-4 in the Paris Theater at Paris. For the show, Lim will be joined by other Season 13 finalists: hard rock singer Courtney Hadwin; electric violinist Brian King Joseph; trapeze artists Duo Transcend; and comedians Samuel J. Comroe and Vicki Barbolak.
Shows will be at 7:30 with a second show at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. Tickets range in price from $55 to $185.
BURT REYNOLDS CARS WILL BE AUCTIONED
Burt Reynolds personally owned cars will be auctioned on Saturday, Sept. 29 by Barrett Jackson at Mandalay Bay. The special memorabilia will include cars from movies “Smokey and the Bandit,” “Hooper,” and “Cannonball Run.” Bidders can attend the auction in person, online or by phone. Sadly, Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson said Reynolds had been planning to attend the event.
CASINO DOMINOES MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT PLAZA
Casino Dominoes made its world debut at the Plaza Hotel & Casino downtown last week. The new domino casino game is now featured on table games with additional future formats, including slot machines and digital applications.
The easy-to-learn card game is similar to three-card poker or blackjack. Casino Dominoes utilizes up to six players at once. Players are dealt three cards and one connector card each, with the goal of matching their domino cards to the connector card, using standard domino rules. Scoring is calculated in multiples of five. The more points collected, the higher the payout. Players can win up to 500 to 1 on a wager, with an option of placing doubles side bets.
Casino Dominoes was created and designed by Harold Moret, a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Casino Operations Program. In 2013, Moret founded the Universal Domino League, the first official gaming association dedicated solely to the game of dominoes.
THE 2019 ‘FANTASY’ CALENDAR HAS A GOLD STANDARD
The ladies of the award-winning “Fantasy” revue at the Luxor have their 2019 calendar being released on Thursday, Oct. 11, which will coincide with the show’s 19th anniversary. The new calendar is named “The Golden Goddesses of FANTASY,” with the stunning dancers gracing the pages wearing nothing but gold tape.
The new calendar is priced at $20 and will be available for purchase at various retail locations at the Luxor, including the Atrium Showroom, and on the Fantasy’s website. The ladies of “Fantasy” will host a series of calendar signings during the holiday season. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Keep Memory Alive.
PUB 365 HOSTS SILVER STATE BREWFEST
Pub 365 inside Tuscany will hold a poolside beer festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 5–9 p.m. with an after party inside the pub. Breweries from Las Vegas and beyond will be featured at the Silver State Brewfest.
Cost of admission includes a souvenir tasting glass, craft beer, and a limited-edition Crafthouse Firkin. Food and other beverages will be available for purchase with 10 percent of ticket sales going to support Three Square Food Bank. General admission is $75; VIP tickets are $85 with early entry at 4 p.m. Designated driver tickets are available for $15.
STRATOSPHERE’S TOP OF THE WORLD DEBUTS MENU AND REMODEL
The Top of the World restaurant on the 106th floor of the Stratosphere has been remodeled and has introduced new lunch and dinner menus along with a new complementary wine menu. Dishes have been created by Golden Entertainment’s new Corporate Executive Chef Johnny Church, who recently won the 500th episode of Food Network’s show, “Chopped.”
The remodel includes: tabletops transitioning from white tablecloths to a Kinon® surface; candle holders reminiscent of street lights; new chairs and reupholstered furniture in shades of gray and blues; a redesigned lobby; improved lighting; and a full sound system upgrade.
Top of the World is open daily for lunch 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and dinner 4 p.m.-3 a.m.
STRATOSPHERE HOSTS 3 WALLBALL SPORTS FESTIVAL
Joining with World Outdoor Racquetball and the National Paddleball Association, the Stratosphere is bringing the richest tournament in outdoor court sports back to the Las Vegas Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 26-30. More than 500 players from nearly 30 states and seven countries are expected to participate in the ninth annual 3 WallBall Sports Festival playing racquetball, handball and paddleball matches and competing for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes.
DITCHIN’ DAIRY DEMO AT VEGAS VEGFEST
Jodi Paige, the COO (Chief Cheese Officer) of Virgin Cheese, will present her free Ditchin’ Dairy Demo on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11:45 a.m. at Vegas VegFest, on the amphitheater stage at the Clark County Government Center. The artisanal cheese maker will demonstrate making vegan cheese. VegFest will run from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is free; however, a $3 donation will be appreciated.
Virgin Cheese comes in many flavors and will introduce the Booze Collection this fall. The non-dairy cheese is being shipped to boutique grocers coast-to-coast, introduced at restaurants, and shipped worldwide via Vegan Essentials, an online vegan grocer.
PARK MGM INTRODUCES THE SPA & SALON
Park MGM has revealed its new spa and salon experience. The Spa & Salon, open daily from 9 a.m.–6 p.m., offers treatment rooms of all different sizes and layouts. The Spa features treatments that incorporate new-age techniques like plant cell research utilized in its signature facial and ancient traditions in floral aromas in the Sothys Hanakasumi body treatment.
Next door, The Salon is an intimate triangular-shaped room designed to encourage lively interaction. Guests are greeted with a glass of rosé or champagne before any number of nail or hair treatments.
QUEEN BEE MARKET’S FALL EXPO WILL HELP GIRL SCOUTS
Queen Bee Market, described as “Etsy comes to life,” is partnering with Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada to host a fundraising drive at the bi-annual event coming up at The Conference Center of Las Vegas on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6. More than 70 vendors, who make their products by hand, will be displaying and selling their wares. Attendees can also expect live demonstrations; make-and-take workshops; and more. Tickets are $5 at the door. Children 12 and younger and military with ID receive free entry.
Queen Bee Market will be collecting monetary donations and additional items, such as backpacks, portable snacks, hygiene products, sleeping bags, small tents and more. Donations will benefit S.T.R.E.E.T. Teens of Las Vegas program. Shoppers making a donation will receive $1 off their entrance fee.
FIRST ‘BARK AND BARRE’ CLASS WILL BE HELD AT THE DISTRICT
The first “Bark and Barre” class in Las Vegas will be held at The District at Green Valley Ranch on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. Hosted by barre3, participants are invited to bring their dogs. The canine-friendly fitness barre3 class will combine the techniques of ballet, yoga and Pilates. Guests must register with barre3 Henderson by Oct. 7. MB Steak at the Hard Rock Hotel has introduced a tableside carving presentation of a 16-pound Tomahawk steak with six shareable side dishes, which is ideal for groups of 10 to 12 people. The Tomahawk dinner, which is cooked “low and slow” is carved tableside and costs $1,200. An advance order is required of 72 hours at minimum.
Hakkasan located at MGM Grand will be celebrating Chinese Golden Week with a limited-edition specialty menu curated by Michelin-Starred Executive Chefs Ho Chee Boon of Hakkasan and Akira Back of Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant and Lounge at Bellagio. The menu will be served from Sept. 30 to Oct. 7.

The family of retired Clark County Fire Department Captain Dennis Snider will hold a fundraiser Thursday, Sept. 27 at Rhythm Kitchen, 6435 S. Decatur Blvd., from 5-10 p.m. A donation of $10 will include admission, a free drink and raffle ticket. Donations received will support Captain Snider’s fight with a neuromuscular disease.
Boyd Gaming is now accepting applications by Sunday, Sept. 30 from Southern Nevada’s nonprofits to participate in a local holiday tradition, Trees of Hope. Boyd Gaming will award more than $40,000 to valley nonprofits taking part in a tree-decorating competition at participating properties: Aliante, Cannery, Gold Coast, Main Street Station, The Orleans, Sam’s Town and Suncoast. Ballsfest will hold its inaugural Las Vegas fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Waldorf Astoria, formerly the Mandarin Oriental. The uplifting nonprofit, founded by testicular cancer survivor, Frank DeBlasi, raises money to provide unforgettable experiences for young cancer patients, who are affectionately called “Ballers.” Ballsfest has 10 years fundraiser experience in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Paradise Valley, Ariz. Tickets start at $150.
