POP SUPERSTAR KATY PERRY ANNOUNCES 2023 RESIDENCY DATES
International sensation, Katy Perry has announced 14 new 2023 show dates to her highly acclaimed Las Vegas residency “Katy Perry: PLAY” at Resorts World Theatre. Tickets for her new shows are scheduled between Feb. 15–25 and March 3–April 15. The new 2023 show dates will kick-off the second year of her larger-than-life residency which premiered on Dec. 29, 2021, in the newest theatre on the Strip.
Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl performance is the highest rated in the event’s history. She is one of only five artists in history to have topped 100 million certified units with their digital singles – and the first-ever Capitol Records recording artist to join the elite RIAA 100 Million Certified Songs club.
LA MONA ROSA WILL REPLACE LA COMIDA DOWNTOWN
Corner Bar Management, the creators behind some of Downtown Las Vegas’ most imaginative destinations including Commonwealth, Lucky Day and Cheapshot, has acquired La Comida at 100 S. Sixth St. Keeping La Comida’s Mexico City-inspired stylish design and the original bones of the space, Corner Bar will introduce a new dining destination La Mona Rosa. The restaurant will remain open as La Comida until La Mona Rosa officially debuts, and Corner Bar is working to keep the same team in place.
Executive Chefs Daniel Arias and Isidro Marquez-Castillo, who also helm Corner Bar’s downtown restaurant, Peyote, will curate a menu for La Mona Rosa. The cuisine will celebrate Mexico’s diverse regions, robust flavors and culinary techniques through traditional dishes complemented by craft cocktails.
The 3,500-square-foot space seats 80 in the dining room, 15 at the bar and 24 on the patio. An open kitchen is visible from the rear of the dining room and a 25-foot cocktail bar overlooks Sixth Street. New to the venue will be a stage, which Corner Bar plans to activate for a range of live entertainment and nightlife experiences. Corner Bar’s owner, Ryan Doherty, will keep the seven-foot pink neon monkey clinging to the side of the building as homage to the Mortons, Jenna and Michael.
Jenna and Michael Morton are behind Morton Group and have long been neighbors to Corner Bar’s other downtown destinations since opening La Comida in 2013. The Morton Group portfolio includes La Cave at Wynn, Crush and Greek Sneak at MGM Grand, and One Steakhouse at Virgin Las Vegas. The Mortons are in discussions to open a new La Comida in a resort hotel property.
DERMOT KENNEDY WILL VISIT THE CHELSEA AT THE COSMOPOLITAN
Platinum selling singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy will bring “The Sonder Tour” to The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan on Friday, May 19, 2023. The tour comes in celebration of the acclaimed artist’s new album, “Sonder,” being released Nov. 4 on Island Records/Interscope.
Sonder, which means “the realization each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own,” resonated deeply with Kennedy and reflects a new musical chapter for him. Highlights from the album include the piano ballad “Innocence and Sadness” recorded live, the infectious “Kiss Me,” the lead single “Something to Someone,” which has topped more than 20 million streams, and “Dreamer,” which he recently performed on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

An early concert for 2023 will highlight the hilarious antics of Nerd Halen mashing the music of Van Halen while transporting the audience into a 1980s B-movie. This tribute band, unlike any other, will combine comedy and Rock’ n’ Roll when they take the M Pavilion stage at the M Resort on Saturday, Jan. 21at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $20.

Santana’s residency celebrated its 10-year anniversary this year. Since May 2012, with the sale of tickets, the Santana residency has been responsible for a donation of more than $230,000 to benefit both the Milagro Foundation and to House of Blues’ Music Forward Foundation.
AMY SCHUMER’S RESORTS WORLD SHOW DATE RESCHEDULED
Due to a scheduling conflict, Amy Schumer, Emmy-winning standup comedian, actress, writer, producer, and director, has rescheduled her Saturday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. Las Vegas tour date at Resorts World Theatre to Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at 8 p.m.
Tickets purchased for the original show date will be honored for the rescheduled date and time.
Most recently, Schumer wrote, executive produced, directed and starred in her 10-episode comedy series “Life & Beth,” which is streaming now on Hulu and has been renewed for a second season. Currently, she is on her first major tour in over four years. “Amy Schumer: Whore Tour” began in July and runs through fall including stops all throughout the U.S.

The Neon Museum recently received a special proclamation from the city of Las Vegas to commemorate the 10th anniversary of opening its current campus on Las Vegas Boulevard in historic downtown on Oct. 27, 2012. Councilman Cedric Crear presented the proclamation in person to The Neon Museum’s executive director, Aaron Berger inside the museum’s Neon Boneyard, home to its iconic neon sign collection.

Michael Gaughan’s Airport Slot Concession, Inc. has been operating for 36 years at Harry Reid International Airport. This year the company celebrated a milestone, having generated one billion dollars in revenue over the lifetime of its airport contract.
In recent years, slot machines have generated approximately $39.8 million in Gross Revenue annually, which translates to an average of $34.4 million in revenue for the airport. The funds generated by slots and other airport concessions help keep airport operating costs down and, in turn, plane ticket prices low.
The company operates 1,430 slot machines in all the airport’s terminals and has 245 employees. When visitors arrive and leave having slots in the airport is an amenity setting the tone for a Vegas experience. In the United States, Harry Reid International Airport is one of only two airports with slot machines.
