SNOW CARNIVAL HOLIDAY FOREST WILL DEBUT AT M RESORT
Snow Carnival Holiday Forest, an immersive winter-themed wonderland produced by International Special Attractions, Ltd. (ISA) in partnership with M Resort, will open on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and run through Jan. 8, 2023. Tickets for the seasonal attraction will go on sale soon.
A gentle flurry of snowflakes will greet visitors as they are welcomed into a world of more than 350 tons of real snow both falling from above and blanketing the ground. To keep the magic of the picturesque winter wonderland alive, 50 tons of fresh snow will be added throughout the indoor Snow Carnival engagement each day.
From snowball throwing to snowman building, this celebratory attraction will offer fun for the whole family. Coast down the snowy inclines of the “Mini Matterhorn” snow slide, visit the Candy Cane Forest, or stop by a snow play area for winter games and more. Snow Carnival will create a storybook experience of exploration.
Snow Carnival, which will be open daily inside of the M Pavilion with select operating hours through Jan. 8, will also offer wintery eats, treats, and drinks.
DAVID BLAINE MESMERIZES AT RESORTS WORLD THEATRE
Magician, extreme illusionist, and stunt artist, David Blaine, premiered his first-ever Las Vegas residency, “David Blaine: In Spades,” exclusively at the Resorts World Theatre last week. Due to overwhelming ticket demand, the magician is adding six new 2023 show dates Jan. 6-7 and 27-28, and March 10-11. Previously announced 2022 show dates include Oct. 28-29 and Dec.16-17.
Blaine takes “In Spades” to new heights as he welcomed the audience suspended from helium balloons freely floating from the 85-foot-tall ceilings of the theatre followed by a jaw-dropping jump from the height of an eight-story building into cardboard boxes stacked six-feet tall in the front orchestra. Throughout the creative production, Blaine utilized the individual state-of-the-art features of the multi-level, 5,000-capacity Resorts World Theatre incorporating large-scale installations.
The New York Times noted Blaine has “taken a craft that’s been around for hundreds of years and done something unique and fresh with it,” whilst The New Yorker claimed, “he saved magic.”
An eclectic, star-studded crowd attended Blaine’s premiere including Woody Harrelson, Edward Norton, Lars Ulrich, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Logan Paul, JR, Guy Oseary, Alex Honnold, Rob Lowe, Miranda Kerr, Evan Spiegel, Steve Wozniak, Brian Grazer, Darren Aronofsky, Philippe Petit, Sergey Brin and more.
LAS VEGAS BOOK FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR 21ST YEAR
The Las Vegas Book Festival, now in its 21st year, returns to downtown Las Vegas Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with lectures, workshops, activities, book signings, and more. The free annual event is held at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St., and open to all ages. The Las Vegas Book Festival is the largest literary event in Nevada, presented by the city of Las Vegas.
The 2022 Las Vegas Book Festival will feature four headline authors — Carl Bernstein, Elin Hilderbrand, Kiley Reid and chef Hubert Keller. Topics include politics, book club favorites, diversity and cookbooks. Each headliner will sign books after their sessions.
SAHARA HOSTS COMMEMORATIVE 70-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
The Sahara’s 70th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 with the unveiling of a historic photo exhibit on the casino floor, and a cake presentation and champagne toast being held in Azilo Ultra Lounge. The “70 Years of Extraordinary Images: Sahara’s History in Photographs,” exhibition will span the resort’s history and noteworthy milestones from 1952 to the present day including vintage images of the superstars who performed at the resort.

The Sahara will feature anniversary specials, limited-time dishes, and more. In the CASBAR Lounge there will be three anniversary cocktails available for $13 each this October: Speed – The Ride; The Sinfinity; and Ode to the Beachcomber.
BELLAGIO’S CONSERVATORY CREATES ‘ARTFULLY AUTUMN’ DISPLAY
The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens fall display “Artfully Autumn” running through Nov. 12 features dramatic sculptural pieces, an abundance of fall floral, foliage and pumpkins, and a new custom fragrance.
This season’s masterpiece pays homage to modern architecture and artists such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Christo and Jeanne-Claude and Louis Comfort Tiffany, incorporating reverence to their designs in unexpected and imaginative ways. Throughout the Conservatory journey, guests will enjoy botanical works of art nestled within a palette of rich golden hues and crisp oranges and reds as a new festive fall “cornucopia” scent fills the air with the aroma of cranberry and orange mixed with rich cinnamon, setting the mood for the season.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a spectacular waterfall sculpture towering above the West Bed. The sculpture is a reinterpreted homage to the famed Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. To create the infinity waterfall basin, Bellagio engineers removed a portion of the Conservatory subfloor below, a first in the resort’s 24-year history.
Some fun stats include the weight of the waterfall structure is 3,000 pounds; the largest pumpkin of which there are 357 in the display weighs 1,026 pounds; nine illuminated acorns; one fairy; five flickering giant dragonflies; and much more.
DRAI’S COMMEMORATES 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Drai’s Beachclub • Nightclub • After Hours at The Cromwell is celebrating a Las Vegas first in nightlife – a remarkable 25-year anniversary for the club. The party will be held where it all began at Drai’s After Hours in the basement of The Cromwell on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Mt Charleston Lodge’s pop up concept, Pine Dining, will host two days of Oktoberfest events on the mountain. On Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 15 and16 guests will enjoy an Oktoberfest menu featuring brats, pretzels, and more as they take in gorgeous mountain views on the site of Mt Charleston Lodge. SKYE CANYON HOSTS SIXTH ANNUAL CHALKTOBERFEST
Skye Canyon will celebrate art, autumn, and inspiration during its sixth annual juried chalk art competition, Chalktoberfest, a festival welcoming the fall season featuring a chalk art contest, art fair, games and inflatables, and pumpkin patch, set for Saturday, Oct. 22 at Skye Canyon Park at 10111 W. Skye Canyon Park Drive from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
This year’s chalk art contest theme is “Spread Love - Land, Sea, and Skye” and some 35 artists of all skill levels will vie for top honors and cash prizes as they imaginatively interpret this hopeful theme and display the power of uplifting artistic creativity. NF HOPE CONCERT RETURNS TO THE SMITH CENTER
Celebrating 12 years of fundraising and performances by top talent, the NF Hope Concert will return to the stage in Myron’s Cabaret at The Smith Center on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $49.
NF Hope Concert founders Jeff Leibow, formerly of “Jersey Boys,” and his wife Melody, are bringing the concert back. The lobby opens at noon for silent auction viewing. DOWNTOWN CONTAINER PARK HOLDS ‘OKTOBERFEST’ BEER WALK
Oktoberfest will return to Downtown Container Park with its autumnal beer walk, sponsored by Samuel Adams. The German-themed brew fest will take over the park on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. with live entertainment, competitions, specials and more. Tickets are online for $35 before prices increase.
