As many of you know this writer really likes to letcha all know when someone special is doing something very special. Well, gang, Chadwick Johnson (no relation) is doing just that this coming Wednesday (July 29th) at the Italian American Club on East Sahara.

What is different about this particular show is that it will be done on a round elevated stage in the middle of the showroom, with two rows of tables spanning out like spokes on a wheel. The show, titled “Reimagined…Every Song Has a Story,” will kick off at 8:00 p.m., and there are a few prime, ringside seats still left, according to Chadwick. Tickets are $20.00 for general admission and $30.00 for premium ringside.

“We have a handful of premium, ringside seats left,” Chadwick told me when I called him Monday. “I’m really excited to tell you that for each guest who purchases a ringside seat, I will have a special gift for them, which they will receive the night of the show.”

If you haven't had the chance to purchase your tickets and would like to go to www.iacvegas.com or call the Italian American Club at 702-457-3866.  This is also the number to call if you would like to make dinner reservations for before or after the show. Another fantastic singer, Rosanna Telford, will be performing Wednesday evening in the lounge, and it generally turns into a party following the big show.

What will this show be like? According to Johnson, “Reimagined...Every Song Has A Story,” honors the songs of some of the greatest storytellers of our time including songs by Billy Joel, Carol King, Elton John, Joni Mitchell and a handful of his personal favorite originals all performed in a 'theater in the round' setting, which will make for his most intimate performance yet here in Vegas. That paired with some possible surprise special guests, should make for quite a memorable evening.

THIS AND THAT QUICKLY:

The Laugh Factory, located on the mezzanine level of the New Tropicana Hotel, will be swinging with a ton of laughter this week, with the appearance of three loveable, but quick with the puns comics.  Headlining will be Brian Scolaro, with Jeff Capri featured, and hosting the two shows nightly through this Sunday will be Penny Prince.

Scolaro is an actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Brian has performed stand-up on his own half-hour special, “Comedy Central Presents: Brian Scolaro,” as well as on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” and ABC’s “Comics Unleashed.” He is best known for playing Doug on TBS’s hit series “Sullivan & Son,” Stuart on Fox’s “Stacked,” and Gordon on NBC’s “Three Sisters.”  Scolaro has also appeared on Showtime’s “Dexter,” AMC’s “Mad Men,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” NBC’s “Harry's Law,” TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age,” Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Bob Odenkirk’s film “The Brother’s Solomon” and numerous appearances on HBO's “Life and Times of Tim,” as well as many other programs and films.

Capri is one of a few second generation comics working today. Jeff’s cynical yet likable edge covers everything from pop culture to biographical and political twists, as well as a silly pun or three. From comedy clubs to cruise lines, military tours and corporate events Capri’s strong improvisational ability enables him to adapt to any crowd. His television appearances include “Comics Unleashed,” “Last Comic Standing and the reality show “Who Wants to Date a Comedian?”  When Penny Prince unleashes his unique brand of comedy, laughter is sure to follow. Originally from Stockton, California, Prince has been entertaining the masses for more than eight years with his wide range of celebrity impressions. He has made appearances on NBC, MTV and “The Howard Stern Show.”  Show times are 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $34.95 and $44.95.

The world famous "NO, Ifs ands or..." Crazy Girls bronze statue was moved from a warehouse to the casino floor of Planet Hollywood Monday. Executive Producer Norbert Aleman was on hand to watch the transplant. The "Crazy Girls" show is currently performing in the Sin City Showroom at Planet Hollywood. The show moved to Planet Hollywood after the Riviera Hotel & Casino closed. The world famous Crazy Girls butts statue was created in 1995, and has survived the test of time and has become an iconic landmark for photo taking among tourists and locals.

Multi-talented musical siblings The Bacon Brothers will perform their only West Coast appearance at The Orleans Showroom, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1--2. Long before Kevin Bacon starred in “Footloose,” launching his prolific acting career, and before Michael Bacon became known as an Emmy Award-winning composer for film and television, they were just two brothers growing up in Philadelphia with a shared love and passion for music.

The Bacon Brothers Band formed in 1995, and is known for its gritty rock and Philly soul. The band consists of six members including Michael Bacon on vocals, guitar and cello; Kevin Bacon on vocals, guitar and percussion; Paul Guzzone on bass guitar and backing vocals; Joe Mennonna on keyboards and accordion; Frank Vilardi on drums; and Ira Siegel on lead guitar, mandolin and backing vocals.

In 2008, the brothers released “New Years Day,” with Kevin composing the majority of the album’s songs. The Bacon Brother’s newest album “36 ¢,” is a combination of fast-picking country with glimpses of hip-hop, English countryside plucks and Alanis Morissette cover song “You Learn,” including “Above The Clouds,” “Kiss Your Mother” and the title track.   To kick off the tour, The Bacon Brothers appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” to discuss their music and Kevin’s philanthropic involvement in the Six Degrees concept, www.SixDegrees.org, which emphasizes using personal connections for social good. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $29.95 plus tax and convenience fees. Tickets can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.284.7777, or by visiting www.orleanscasino.com.
