‘MAGIC MIKE LIVE’ WILL MOVE TO SAHARA IN 2020
“Magic Mike Live Las Vegas,” which recently celebrated its 1,000th performance at the Hard Rock, will end its incredibly successful run there on Nov. 24, and will re-open at the Sahara in Spring of 2020.
Timing is everything. The Hard Rock will be undergoing a changeover to Virgin Hotels in 2020, while the Sahara is currently undergoing a $150 million renovation and believes “Magic Mike Live” will be an ideal fit for the property’s transformation.
The Las Vegas flagship production of “Magic Mike Live,” which opened in April 2017, has started an international sensation with “Magic Mike Live London” opening less than a year ago and breaking box office records. Now a production will be opening in Berlin this winter with additional productions being planned around the globe.
BINION’S OPENS NEW WHISKEY LICKER UP SALOON
Whiskey Licker Up, a full-service saloon with a rotating bar as its centerpiece, opened downtown at Binion’s. The 10,000+-square-foot facility is located directly above the existing Whiskey Licker Bar and Patio on the southwest corner of the property. The rotating bar overlooks Fremont Street and first street stage, with two open air balconies. The setting is located within feet of the Slotzilla Zoom Line and all under the bright lights of the Fremont Street Experience.
Whiskey Licker Up offers drinks, fresh food dining from a scratch kitchen, dancing, live entertainment and virtual reality pods. The menu includes food choices like a classic “Licker Up” burger, Grilled Pear salad, or Ahi Poke Cones.
HUMAN NATURE CELEBRATED 2000TH SHOW
This month, Australia’s Human Nature celebrated their 2000th show and 10 years as Las Vegas resident headliners. The four-man group were surprised on stage by Motown legend and their mentor Smokey Robinson during their current production, “Australia’s Human Nature Sings Motown & More,” in the Sands Showroom at The Venetian. After Robinson heard the group sing Motown classics in Australia, he decided to bring them to Las Vegas. Human Nature recently announced their contract extension at The Venetian through March 2022.
BELLAGIO WILL UNVEIL LAKESIDE SUPPER CLUB THIS DECEMBER
Bellagio will launch of The Mayfair Supper Club, an elegant restaurant featuring contemporary American cuisine and nightly live entertainment, over New Year’s weekend. Inspired by top supper clubs in London and around the world, The Mayfair will redefine the traditional “dinner and a show” set to the backdrop of The Fountains of Bellagio.
MGM Resorts partnered with London and New York-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studios to create whimsical moments, which will transport guests to a fanciful and flexible environment. The Mayfair also will serve as the ideal location for booking special events.
BALLY’S DEBUTS THE MAGIC ATTIC
The Magic Attic previously named Windows Showroom has officially been unveiled at Bally’s on the mezzanine level. The 300-capacity venue offers an intimate entertainment space the hotel considers suitable and ideal for magical productions and illusionists. The showroom is currently home to “Xavier Mortimer’s Magical Dream,” “Paranormal Mind Reading Magic,” and “Potted Potter.”
PEDAL-POWERED RAIL EXPLORERS WILL OPEN IN BOULDER CITY
Rail Explorers, the family-friendly, outdoor-adventure attraction featuring pedal-powered rail bikes, after operating for several successful springtime seasons will begin year-round tours in Southern Nevada on Oct. 11. Located in historic Boulder City, Rail Explorers offers guided excursions in two- or four-seat rail bikes along the same tracks used during construction of the Hoover Dam.
There are three tour options, including the Southwest Ramble, a four-mile downhill pedal-powered daytime ride; the Sunset Tour downhill ride at sunset; and the Evening Lantern Ride. All rides start at the Nevada State Railroad Museum and continue downhill to Railroad Pass. Each tour also includes a nostalgic ride back to the top of the hill in one of the museum’s historic trains, along with free museum entry.
Rail Explorer rail bikes for all ages have four steel wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, and pedals for each seat. Although rail bikes require pedaling, the magic of steel wheels on steel rails makes the experience distinctive from riding a regular bicycle.
Tandem Rail Explorer (up to two riders) or Quad Rail Explorer rail bikes (up to four riders) are available on each tour. Tandem Explorer tours are $85 and Quad Explorers are $150; a single rider is $45.
PAWN PLAZA CELEBRATES 4th ANNIVERSARY AND NEW TENANT
Chapels at The Pawn is a new tenant opening at Pawn Plaza, which is next door to the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, and opening in time the mall’s 4th anniversary. All tenant spaces are sold out now.
The chapel joins Good Pie, Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ & Tavern, Chumlee’s Candy on the Blvd., ‘NFused Café and coffee shop, Highway Radio, Pawn Plaza Visitors Center, Master Barbering Galo Shop and Elite Motorsports. Note Rick Harrison is the proprietor and bartender on Friday and Saturday nights at his own Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ & Tavern.
Chapels at the Pawn will have five altars and three chapels and predominantly female reverends as well as the “Wedding King” in Reverend Scott J. Polek. Wedding packages will start at $249. Folks can get creative like having Carl’s Donuts offering donut walls and bouquets or holding a reception at Rick’s Tavern.
FALL ON FULL DISPLAY AT BELLAGIO CONSERVATORY
The Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Garden’s autumn display is running through Nov. 30 and will be followed by the holiday design Dec. 7-Jan. 4, 2020. The Harvest display is featuring golden leaves, waterfalls and for the first time two exotic elephants. Designer Ed Libby’s travels to India influenced the captivating exhibit. Two 25-foot tigers are keeping a watchful eye over the North Garden. Three floral sculptures made from more than 2,000 vibrant roses rest on the pond’s edge.
DLVEC HOSTS ANNUAL PRIDE FESTIVAL
This year’s PRIDE Festival will be held Friday-Saturday, Oct.11-12 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) to celebrate diversity with performances from Kiesza, Vassy and Cazwell, as well as performances by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Manila Luzon and Bob The Drag Queen and more. Hosting the evening will be Jennifer Warner, Drew Dixon, Edie and J. Son.
The two-day festival will feature food trucks, pop-up drag shows, more than 100 PRIDE merchandise vendors, all-ages Family Fun Zone, a pet parade, and after dark celebrations.
Doors open at 5 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday. PRIDE after dark (18+) will go from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Friday and 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday. Weekend pass is $15 and start at $20 on each event day.
PURE ALOHA FESTIVAL AT SILVERTON CELEBRATES 14 YEARS
Vizzun Entertainment presents the 14th Annual Pure Aloha Fall Festival and Concerts from Friday-Sunday, Oct. 4-6 at the Silverton. The event features traditional Polynesian performances and Island Reggae concerts, island craft and merchandise booths, authentic food vendors, carnival games and amusement rides. This year’s free evening concerts will feature Baba B, Anuhea, Ka’ikena Scanlan, Kaipo, Chief Ragga, Redmelo, Typical Hawaiians and more.
Hours are Friday, 5 p.m.-midnight; Saturday, 1 p.m. to midnight; and Sunday 1-10 p.m. Tickets available only at the entrance are $10 or $15 after 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and after 7 p.m. on Sunday. Children under 42” are free.
BROOKLYN BOWL HOLDS ROCK AND ROLL PLAYHOUSE CONCERTS
After a successful launch this summer, Brooklyn Bowl is planning a second series of Rock and Roll Playhouse family-friendly, all ages concerts. To create a safe environment for children, the sound is reduced to a child-safe volume. The three-series 11 a.m. Saturdays concert schedule will feature: Free Fallin’ ft. the Music of Tom Petty for Kids and More! Oct. 19; The Music of Queen for Kids Nov. 16; and The Music of The Beatles for Kids: Holiday Celebration Dec. 21. Tickets are $15 and free for kids under the age of one.
The series offers live music, games, movement, stories, and an introductory course to musicians in rock history. Brooklyn Bowl’s full brunch menu, both adult and child-friendly, will be available.

An inaugural Downtown Octoberfest party with bottomless beers from local and regional breweries will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Llama Lot at 900 Fremont Street. The family-friendly event will feature local food trucks, live entertainment, kid’s crafts, all-ages stick horse races, a yodeling contest, bounce house, photo booth and beer. General admission tickets are $35.
The annual family-friendly, three-day Age of Chivalry – Renaissance Fair will be held at Sunset Park, Oct. 11-13 and open daily at 10 a.m. This event immerses attendees in the Renaissance era with numerous villages and different guilds, activities, historical reenactments, jousting, live performances and an array of authentic period foods and beverages. Adults $18 and $20 day of event; seniors and children 12 and under $8 and $10 day of show. Packages are also available.
The Fox 5 “Take 5 to Care” fundraiser for Easterseals Nevada (ESN) will take place from 6–10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at The District at Green Valley Ranch. The 9th Annual Block Party (formerly Cheers to Chocolate) will include unlimited food and beverage tastings, live music, luxury silent auction items, caricature artists, psychics and other street performers. Tickets are $50 per person or $80 for two; must be 21 or older.
The Oct. 4 First Friday’s theme will be “One World through Art,” reminding attendees art continues to break down barriers and unite all cultures together within our community. Featured artist will be Jesse Hudson, Las Vegas-based photographer and artist who explores the development and long-term impact of human behavior, technology, perception and time. The Neon Museum will hold its third annual Boneyard Ball fundraising gala on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Encore at Wynn. This year’s esteemed honoree is globally acclaimed artist, filmmaker and creative genius Tim Burton, who will receive the Museum’s prestigious Glow Award. Cost starts at $600.
PKWY Tavern is inviting runners and walkers to the first Beer Run on Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. at PKWY Flamingo. The neighborhood sports bar will kick off the 5k Fun Run and one-mile beer run, where guests will receive a 12 oz. can of beer every quarter mile which must be finished before moving on to the next. INTERNATIONAL INNOVATION CENTER @ VEGAS OPENS IN LAS VEGAS
The International Innovation Center @ Vegas (IIC@Vegas) is a new 11,000-square-foot center for established and emerging tech companies developing smart technologies which align with Las Vegas city priorities including, but are not limited to workforce development, smart technology, at-risk populations, neighborhood development and public safety. Located downtown this co-working space is organized by the city of Las Vegas.
The newly named facility has been welcoming technology companies over the past several months and seven established or start-up tech companies are the first tenants: Ubicquia; Dyntek; StartupNV; WaterStart; NTT, Terbine; and SonicWall. Companies may apply for leases at the IIC@Vegas for a period of three to 12 months during their pilot periods.
If a pilot project and/or technology development is successful, the technology may be considered for deployment by the city. Once a company’s lease term is complete, the city’s Economic and Urban Development department plans to work with tenants to secure and move into available space in the downtown area or elsewhere in the city.
