January 2022

Happy New Year!  (We hope, we hope, we so hope…)

So let’s recap…

It has now been two years of this crap…

2021 was a year of dashed hopes…the year started with a successful vaccine!!  Yay…we’re all saved, but…it somehow became political and not enough people went out and got the vaccine, so we never really got out of the woods.  But by mid-summer we seemed to be doing really well, and everything opened back up, and then Delta hit and we had to start closing everything down…and then in the late fall, we seemed to be doing really well and everything started to open back up…and then Omicron hit, and we had to close everything down…it all sucked.

Omicron…you are not our friend.  It is yet another variation that is playing its deadly game.  This one is out to get us all.  In just a couple of weeks it went from discovery to the dominant strain.  Once again, events are dropping like flies and being cancelled.  College Football Bowl Games are being cancelled…it’s insane.  The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), one of the largest conventions of the year will be a trifling of what it was supposed to be.  Every major player has dropped out.

Please 2022, fulfill some of our hopes and dreams.

As we create some New Year’s resolutions, we look at ourselves and try to figure out what we should (or shouldn’t) do to make our lives better.  For the most part, we already know what our shortcomings are, and we already know how to fix them (i.e. weight and exercise.)  Sadly, the average time before a resolution is broken…is seventeen days.

And yet…here we go again.  What would I like to resolve to do?  Quite frankly, I’d like to do what I didn’t get to do these past couple of years…all the festivals and productions, but I’d also like to diversify financial streams and not have to rely on singular sources for income.  Working in the entertainment industry, I am considered “non-essential,” but I think that the joy entertainment brings into people’s lives is the one essential thing that we have been missing.
