Eve Quillin has lived under the neon lights of Las Vegas, Nevada for over 35 years. She's witnessed the changes, from main streets still unpaved to every bit of land within the city either paved or built on. She's watched the hotel showrooms change from featuring a big name star and an opening act, to giant productions that completely fill the stage. In these 35 plus years she has seen the local population go from 350,000 to nearly 2 million and still growing by thousands every month. Eve Quillin's first book titled "My Life In Shorts, In Las Vegas With Other Celebrities," was published in 2003 when Eve was 75. In the book Quillin shares her adventures with pal B.B. King and Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy. Her book speaks of many meetings with stars like Frank Sinatra, of visiting Elvis Presley's Graceland with her husband who was Elvis' guest at Graceland, many years ago. Stories of parties where Roy Horn helped her on stage, to have a picture made with him, just months before his tiger Montecore tried to carry him off stage, out of what he thought was danger, but instead gave him life threatening injuries from which he is still recovering. From being raised in a small town of 700 people, Eads, Colorado, to a move to the big city, Denver, Colorado and then on to Las Vegas via Hollywood, California, Eve Quillin shares her life's adventures, through her columns and her book. Now at 80, Eve is still telling of her experiences and encourages every one who lives to a "ripe old age," if you haven't attained your dream, continue your quest. It's really NOT too late.
